Their job was essential to the safety and success of U.S. naval operations during World War II

C-55 USS (AM 283) renamed ARM Teniente Juan de la Barrera C-55, was sunk in Cancun, Mexico in the year 2000 for diving purposes. Today it is home of thousands of inhabitants of the ecosystem that develops here.

C-58 USS Harlequin (AM 365) was named ARM General Pedro Maria Anaya C-58. There is a confusion with the A08 boat Now "Aldebaran" a school ship and the C-58 but the only General Anaya was sunk in Cancun for scuba diving purposes. As of 2007 Aldebaran remained in active service with the Mexican Navy the C-58 is used as an artificial reef for diving.The C-58 lays in Cancun's ocean floor divided in two pieces, Stern and Bow.
